Affordable Connectivity Program

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a non-transferable (from one person to another) federal government benefit program operated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that provides a discount up to $30 per month on the cost of internet services. With the ACP, MidSouth Fiber subscribers may be eligible for a discount that helps reduce the price of their chosen high-speed internet package.

The program is limited to one monthly internet discount per household. To qualify, your household annual income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines OR you must certify that you or someone in your household receives benefits from a participating program, such as:

  • FCC’s Federal Lifeline program
  • Medicaid
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) formerly Food Stamps
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
  • Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit
  • Received a Federal Pell Grant in the current award year
  • Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
  • Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program, including at U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Community Eligibility Provision schools

The Federal Government determines ACP eligibility, not MidSouth Fiber.

You may obtain ACP-supported internet service from MidSouth Fiber (or any other participating provider) and may transfer your ACP benefit to another provider at any time.  If the ACP ends, or when a household is no longer eligible, you will be subject to MidSouth Fiber’s non-discounted service rates, terms, and conditions.

Note: If you currently receive a federal Lifeline benefit, you automatically qualify for the ACP and do not need to go through the application process (but you still need to contact us to apply the credit and agree to the terms). You can receive both benefits at the same time and apply them to the same or different services or different providers.

To See if You Qualify and To Apply

Step 1: Visit ACPbenefit.org. Follow the instructions to check if you qualify and to apply for the ACP.  Once approved, you will receive an email/document from USAC (Universal Service Administrative Co.).

Step 2: To begin receiving the discounted service with MidSouth Fiber, you will need to provide us with a copy of the email you received from USAC AND complete MidSouth Fiber’s ACP Consent Form.  Click here to access and download the form.

If you already have fiber service with us, we will begin the process to apply the discount to your bill as soon as we receive the completed application, a copy of the approval form you received, and have received confirmation from USAC.

If you do not currently have fiber service with us, we will place your order and contact you to schedule installation, then apply the discount once service is connected.
