January 2021 Construction Update

We’re kicking off 2021 by opening two more service areas in phase 1. Yesterday, members in service areas 103 and 108 should have received an email asking them to choose their package and schedule their in-home installation.

Service areas 103 and 108 now join 102, 109, 110 and 111 in offering bolder, faster fiber internet service. If you live in any of these areas and have not received an email, or would like to sign up for service, please speak with a member service representative at 936-825-5100.

As construction continues, we expect to open more service areas in phase 1 this spring. For those living in service areas 101, 105 and 107, start keeping a close eye on your inbox. 105 is expected to open in early March, with areas 101 and 107 following closely behind in early April.

In December, MidSouth Fiber celebrated hooking up its 1,000th fiber subscriber. Since then, more and more fiber subscribers have came online and are enjoying bolder, faster fiber internet service. Contractors are also continuing construction across phases 1 and 2. You may notice make-ready crews, stranding crews, fiber cable crews and installers who run drops to your home’s exterior working in your neighborhood. If you live in phase 1 and have not seen the next crew move into your area, you will soon.

Phase 2 construction is progressing as well. Our make-ready crews are now moving across the area, upgrading our current system to prepare it for the fiber cable. If you live in phase 2, please pre-register your address at www.midsouthfiber.com. Pre-registration is key in staying up-to-date with construction progress and scheduling your install as soon as service becomes available.
